Forest Stewardship Council®– FSC® Certified # BV-COC-080112
Choosing FSC certified paper and the James W. Smith Printing Company, our clients will have full assurances that every step in the paper and print production cycle follows official sustainable policies. Our certification ensures all stakeholders that sound stewardship methods are taking place on their behalf, while utilizing the FSC label on your print collateral validates the commitment you have to sound stewardship practices. *As of 2020 we will allow our FSC credentials to expire due to lack of demand. In 2019 we produced only 5 projects requiring this certification. Please know that regardless of printing the certification on your print collateral most paper does have a chain of custody from forest to press - there are no rain forests being harvested for our paper products and sound forestry practices are in place.

The Sustainable Business
Sustainability is often confused with “going green.” Broadly speaking, however, the capacity for continuance into the long term is about more than the environment. Make
no mistake, the environment should be of paramount concern to all of us for the simple reason that every business resource comes from it. That being said, focusing only on the environmental aspects of sustainability is both shortsighted and partial – not unlike claiming that good health is solely about vegetables. It is important to note that sustainability embraces the legal, financial, economic, industrial, social and behavioral arenas as well as the environment. From a business viewpoint it can be argued that sustainability is about reducing expenses – including future expenses – in every conceivable form so as to facilitate longevity and competitiveness.
