Title: Customer Service/Production
Accountable To: Director of Sales
Rate: based on qualifications
Basic Purpose: Coordinate and expedite the processing, production, delivery, and billing of Client printing jobs for customer satisfaction on quality, quantity, schedule, and status reporting; and to meet company objectives for profit and quality.
Assist in all sales and support functions as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Printing job specification: Participates with Sales Team to obtain complete and accurate printing
job information and requirements for the Client and maintains follow-up liaison with Sales and the Client to ensure that Client’s requirements are clearly documented and actually understood.
• Accurate, complete and timely availability of job information.
• Timely and appropriate communication to sales.
2. Job tickets: Process job tickets for assigned production jobs and organizes the job
specifications, schedule requirements, and other information necessary to identify company requirements for production activities, time and materials to meet Client requirements for design, quality, quantity, and delivery.
• Timely, accurate and complete availability of customer requirements and supporting information.
3. Job Materials: Identifies need for special ordering of materials (paper, outside services, etc.,
for successful completion of printing jobs.
• Timely, complete and accurate identification and reporting of requirements.
4. Issue the production schedule to the customer in coordination with Scheduling & Planning.
5. Review the job ticket on all orders for accuracy.
6. Inform in writing, Sales and other affected departments of any up-front customer-requested
changes to a job; all verbal communications are to be confirmed in writing and amend job ticket.
7. Schedule a meeting to review technical aspects of a project at regular production meetings.
8. Attend daily production meetings.
9. Communicate with the customer to confirm any alteration charges or changes to schedule.
All customer alterations are billable to customer unless specifically waived by Executive Management.
10. Inform sales representative and management of job progress, particularly noting any
problems. Inform customer of problems only after complete in-house review.
11. Check correctness of proofs and other related materials prior to sign-off and processing to client.
12. Compare estimate to production plan and requirements.
13. Secure from customer written confirmation on all proofs – PDF’s and hard-copy proofs.
14. Monitor production process to see that the product is being produced on schedule according to the
specifications and that quality is what it should be.
15. Approve color on press when needed and participate in client press-checks.
16. Close out the job tickets, capturing any additional costs incurred. Extra charges – which should have
already been articulated to client must be captured and billed.
17. Ascertain by follow-up call or Email whether client is satisfied with the completed, shipped product and take
necessary steps to assure all possible satisfaction.
18. Contribute when asked to assist in endeavors to support the company and management.
Desired Skill Set:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent graphic arts experience.
Working knowledge of CRC software.
Experience in serving clients within high energy environment.
